Maddox had a Mother's Day picnic with his Mimi today. I was on a school field trip, so Mimi got to be the guest of honor. He was so excited she was going to the park with him! She even brought him a Happy Meal.
A letter from Mimi about her day with Maddy:
Maddy and I had a great time. It started with him running up to me
and giving me a big hug! He made me a happy Mimi.
The whole time he called me "grandma." What's up with that? Even
though I said I'm Mimi... He said ok, grandma. Oh well, it must have
been that he was showing the "mature" side of him to his friends.
I forgot my camera but I made sure that Ms. Silvia took plenty of
pictures.
He ate all of his chicken nuggets, some potato chips, and cherry
tomatoes. He topped his meal off with strawberry ice cream for
dessert.
Maddy ran off to play but he didn't stay away long because he was
afraid that I would leave. I kept telling him that I wouldn't leave
without telling him.
Ahhh, it was sad. He didn't want me to leave. He cried when I
left. I checked on him as I was pulling out and he was swinging. So I
guess he got over it quickly. Although, I like to believe that when I
saw him looking over his shoulder to the parking lot that he was
looking for me. I just didn't want him to be sad.
It was a good experience for both of us but I know I will remember
it longer than Maddy (or as long as my memory holds out).:0)
