Happy First Day of School? Check! Check! Check!

My handsome and sweet school bound boys!

Even, though the boys said they were not ready to go back to school, they truly were! Maddy would get mad at me because I would tell him, "There are still 5 days til school starts." He wanted it to be a "school day" so bad.  They were very ready for the routine and structure that the school year brings.  I love my summers too, but I was ready to start a fresh new year. It is always exciting!
Big 3rd Grader!

Mrs. Mitsunaga & Jaxson
Mrs.Gonzales, The Principal & Jaxson
Jaxson is starting 3rd grade this year! And I cannot believe it...it seems like he was just starting kindergarten.  Back then it felt like forever until he would reach the grade that I teach.  He loves his teacher Mrs.Mitsunaga.  But, his number one favorite teacher of all time is his mama, Mrs.Martines!  I teach Jaxson a great deal of the day.  He is not in my homeroom class, but I teach him writing, reading, technology, and social studies.  I love teaching and having him in my classroom!  So far, he is very well mannered, very respectful, and a really hard working student.  I hope it stays this way or I might have to set up a parent conference with his cute dad! ; )  I can't explain to you fellow mamas how different your child is as a student at school than at home.  Jaxson's best buddy Tyler is in his class too!  I hope this year goes in slow motion because once it is over Jaxson will be on the other side of the building, "the big kid side".  Next year I won't see him as much as I do now. : (  I'm going to soak up this year with him and enjoy every minute of it!

Maddy & His Best Bud Kyle

Already back in motion!

In Full Speed...

Just how mommy likes him with his 2 feet on the ground!
Mr. Maddy loves school! He loves his teacher Mrs. Sam (so do Jason and I) too! This will be his 2nd year in Mrs. Sam's classroom.  Maddy thrives on structure and routine at school, as much as he opposes it at home.  He loves their school garden and has really taken a huge interest to it.  He loves picking out and bringing sharing for the "letter of the week" to school.  He is right where he belongs and we could not be happier.  This is his last year of preschool. : (  Next year he will start kindergarten, so this is another reason I want the year to go in extra s-l-o-w m-o-t-i-o-n!

I have a fantastic 3rd grade class this year too! I also have an awesome teaching partner, principal, and fellow staff mates.

Everyone at the Martines house reported having an AWESOME first day of school! Here's to a great school year!
