Friday night Maddox had his first trip to the ER and received stitches. Usually when your child has firsts they are exciting as a parent. This first was not a first I ever wanted to experience as a parent and hopefully we will not experience this again. My poor little Maddy! He was at our friends' house with Jaxson and Jason. He was on the top bunk bed playing and nicked below his eye on the ceiling fan. He was very lucky he did not get his eye. The doctor originally thought he could glue the cut, but as he got a closer look he decided it would be best to stitch it up. He landed up getting 3 stitches under his eye. Maddy was so extremely brave! He did not cry or have to be held down. He even asked the doctor to see the stitching tool. Maddy's ER trip turned into a field trip for him, asking a million questions. The doctor said he had never stitched up a 4 year old so brave and without tears or being held down. I, of course was the one in tears. I'm so proud of my Maddy and thankful that Daddy was there to hide behind. Maddy's eye is swollen and bruised, but he is doing well. The next morning he was doing head stands on the couch! So I guess you can say he is on a quick path to recovery. Maddy is one tough little guy!
