Beans!

One of the perks of teaching at the same school that Jaxson attends is that I get daily updates from his teacher. Jax's first grade teacher came into my classroom during recess and said, "I have to tell you what Jaxson said today!". My first thought was oh no...what did he say? She said in order to line up for lunch the students had to name a vegetable, but they were not allowed to repeat the same vegetable that another student stated. So...it came to be Jaxson's turn and he said "green beans", which happens to be his favorite dinner veggie. She told Jaxson, "Another student already named green beans, can you think of another type of bean?". Thinking that he might name pinto beans or kidney beans. She said he thought for a few seconds and said, "I know JELLY BEANS!". His teacher said it was so cute and that he grinned so big that she said, "Go ahead and line up and today jelly beans can be an honorary vegetable!"
